We at Buksh Foundation aspire to be an innovative player in the microfinance industry by bringing a focus on women, rural markets and impact investment for enhancing scale and efficiency. Our three tiered focus encompasses a vision to be cost effective, sustainable and scalable in providing services to the "un-banked" segment of Pakistan. We have introduced a psychometric tool to gauge the client's character and willingness to pay has been highly successful in our pilot year and will continue to assist us in maintaining a PAR close to zero. Beyond credit for business, life and health insurance, our products will shortly include clean energy solutions for rural households as well as rural farmers, which I truly believe will be a source of looking at Microfinance in a new light, a light of 'diversity & innovation', a light of 'providing the unbanked entrepreneur opportunities of growth' and a light of 'empowerment rather than dependence.'
Our focus on women includes efforts for gender main streaming as well as a commitment to targeting 70% women in the Buksh Foundation team and 60% women clients. We can proudly say that the 40% of our current female clients consists of only self-entrepreneurs i.e. they are self utilizing the loans in their own businesses.
We at Buksh Foundation work with a zeal for microfinance and poverty uplifting in our nation, and that dedication reflects in our work. With this motivation, we aspire to take Buksh Foundation to much greater heights in the coming years and hopefully play our part to reduce poverty by a significant ratio, nationwide, allowing Microfinance to be seen in a new light of 'Micro banking'.
